For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Griesheim, Bauer auf Weide Zentralbild -Wittig Fröhl- L 27.6.1959 LPG-Bauern spezialisieren sich auf Rinderzucht Die LPG " Ernst Thälmann" in Griesheim (Bez.Erfurt) besitzt zur Zeit 60 Herdbuchkühe.Jetzt wollen die Genossenschaftsbauern dazu übergehen, sich auf die Rinderzucht zu spezialisieren. So soll bis 1965 der Besatz an Herdbuchkühen um über 80% steigen. Zugleich soll auch die Futterwirtschaft verbessert werden, um durch eine weitere Zuchtauslese die Milchleistung je Kuh auf etwa 3.500 Kilo zu erhöhen. UBz: Voller Stolz betrachtet hier Melkermeister Paul Gerhard die stattliche Kuhherde der LPG.
