For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Mellahn Ma 2.12.59 Probeweise Inbetriebnahme iner foto-optischen Brennschneidemaschine. Am 28.11.59 nahm die Mathias-Thesen-Werft probeweise eine foto-optische Brennschneidemaschine vom Typ "Sicomat" in Betrieb. Die 22 Meter lange Maschine, die mit vier Schneidbrennern ausgerüstet ist, wird 30% der jährlich auf der Werft benötigten 500 000 Schiffsteile bearbeiten. Die Maschine ist Ausgangspunkt für eine künftige Fließfertigung nach einem Programmverfahren im Schiffbau der Werft. UBz: Die foto-optische Brennschneidemaschine vom Typ "Sicomat" läuft probeweise."
