For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild Burmeister 16.4.1961 Wismar: FDGB-Urlauberschiff "Fritz Heckert" übergeben. Das 7400 Brt. große Urlauberschiff "Fritz Heckert" ist am Sonnabendvormittag (15.4.61) in der Mathias-Thesen-Werft Wismar feierlich dem FDGB übergeben worden. Die Erbauer des schwimmenden Ferienpalastes begingen diesen Tag gemeinsam mit tausenden Werktätigen und einer Hamburger Werft- und Hafenarbeiter-Delegation. (Siehe auch ADN-Meldung 88a-209 und und weitere vom 15.4.61) UBz. Die "Fritz Heckert" während der Feierlichkeiten der Übergabe mit der an Bord angetretenen Mannschaft.
