For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild- Schmidt Sta-Qu 19.2.1963 Leuna II: Den Parteitag und seine Beschlüsse richtig verstanden ...haben die Erbauer von Leuna II, einem der wichtigsten Werke der Petrolchemie in unserer Republik. Das beweisen sie schon mit ihrer Zielstellung, im sozialistischen Wettbewerb den Bauplan 1963 bis zum 30.Juni mit 48 Prozent zu erfüllen. Um das zu erreichen, müssen die Arbeiter, die wegen des strengen Frostes zeitweilig die Arbeit einstellen mußten und den Kohlekumpeln halfen, in den nächsten Wochen Großes leisten. Bereits seit Beginn der Frostmilderung rücken die Arbeiter - unterstützt von Anghörigen der Nationalen Volksarmee mit Sprengstoff und Bohrmaschinen dem tief gefrorenen Boden zu Leibe und treffen Vorbereitungen für weitere Betonierarbeiten.
