For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Güterbahnhof ADN-ZB Häßler 12.12.1977 Hochbetrieb in der Güterabfertigung herrscht in diesen Wochen wie hier auf dem Bahnhof Dresden-Friedrichstadt auf allen Transportknotenpunkten der DDR. Bis zu 4000 Güterwagen werden hier täglich von den Eisenbahnern entladen oder zu neuen Zügen zusammengestellt. Vor allem im Stückgutverkehr - auch bedingt durch den vorweihnachtlichen Postverkehr - sind die Umschlagleistungen enorm gestiegen. Ein wichtiger Beitrag der Eisenbahner zum kontinuierlichen Transport ist u.a. das sorgfältige Be- und Entladen der Waggons, um Ausfälle in den Transportkapazitäten durch Beschädigungen möglichst zu vermeiden.
