  • Description: The ruins of the Muenzenberg castle in the Wetterau near Frankfurt am Main, Germany. View from south-eastern direction. Apart from the two big towers you can see the Romanesque arcades on the western part of the southern great hall. Very prominent is also the chimney that protrudes from the eastern part of this building. The gable with its chimney on the left belongs to the northern great hall on the other side of the inner ward.

  • Beschreibung: Die Ruine der Burg Münzenberg in der Wetterau (Hessen), Blick aus südöstlicher Richtung. Zu erkennen sind außer den beiden markanten Türmen die Buckelquader des älteren, hellen Mauerwerks und die nach außen gerichtete romanische Fensterarkade am westlichen Teil des südlichen Palas. Auffällig ist auch der weit aus den östlichen Teilen des Gebäudes aufragende Kamin. Der dunkle Giebel mit Kamin links davon gehört zum nördlichen Palas auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite des Burghofes.
