English: Burton Mere (Eastern section) The mere is one of the areas of water that would be open sea if Chesil beach had not advanced landward as sea levels rose. Only the eastern section of the mere is in this square and nearly all the water is covered with long reeds. the photographer was in 2 inches of water when this was taken. |
