Description

I pellegrini che visitano i santuari lasciano, di solito, una traccia personalizzata del loro passaggio. Più recentemente una firma o le iniziali incise o disegnate a matita o pennarello. In passato, in un epoca di diffuso analfabetismo, si lasciava un segno personale quale, ad es., il contorno della mano, considerato unico per forma e dimensione. In questo santuario sono numerose le incisioni del profilo delle scarpe, anche queste considerate uniche ed irripetibili perchè le scarpe, spesso acquistate per il matrimonio e conservate accuratamente per decenni anche se con qualche rattoppo o risuolatura, erano di produzione artigianale ed eseguite su misura dell'utilizzatore.
