  • Photograph of Chinese grave markers with altar in a cemetery, in Chinatown, Los Angeles, ca.1900.
  • In the background at center, a small grave marker can be seen beside a low stone border. Several small plants grow within the boundaries of the wall. To the left of the small tombstone, a large stone square can be seen.
  • To the right of the tombstone, a small stone monument is visible. A plaque on the side of the monument reads, "September 1888".
  • In the foreground, sparse vegetation dots the ground. In the extreme background, lines of trees can be seen (along Los Angeles River?).
