English: Chlorargyrite, Embolite
Locality: Broken Hill, Yancowinna County, New South Wales, Australia (Locality at mindat.org)
Size: small cabinet, 7.3 x 6.9 x 4.4 cm (LARGE!)
Embolite (Chlorargyrite)
Extremely rich small cabinet specimen of chlorargyrite crystals with minor cerussite (rare association!) from Broken Hill. These were found in the early 1900s and this would be consider5ed a VERY RICH SPECIMEN! The crystals range from brown to green in color and have a wet, vitreous luster - not so ugly in person as you might think. These specimens are hard to find and very historical, having come out of the ground prior to WWII. Minor bruising present at a couple of areas on the piece but given the size and richness, I think that is forgiveable. Old E. Mitchell Gunnell collection and Hauck collection labels included.
