Judith Merill was a gifted Science Fiction author, from the same circle as Isaac Asimov and Frederick Pohl. She and Pohl married, and had child(ren?). During the War in Vietnam she moved to Toronto, and opened a receiving centre for American draft dodgers and deserters. She had an extensive collection of science fiction, which she donated, and became to core of a special collection. Originally it was housed in a separate library -- devoted just to Science Fiction -- called the "Spaced Out Library". |
