Summary[edit]

Description
English: Clitters Cairn, East Moor This bronze age burial mound on East Moor is known as Clitters Cairn, and its rocky mound and windswept tree are a prominent local feature in the moorland landscape. Around it there are traces of contemporary field systems and settlement sites. Now the moor is open land grazed by sheep, cattle and ponies. The hollow in the centre of the cairn is obviously used by sheep (going by the dung they have left behind) - the shape of the thorn tree gives an idea of the prevailing windy conditions.
