Summary[edit]
DescriptionClockwork to rotate lens system, Kinnaird Head lighthouse - geograph.org.uk - 562613.jpg |
English: Clockwork to rotate lens system, Kinnaird Head lighthouse. If it looks like a church clock, that's because it came from a maker of church clocks. The lighthouse keeper had to climb the stairs and wind up the turning mechanism, and also had to carry up paraffin to burn in the lamp. This mechanism is in the Kinnaird Head Lighthouse which can be visited with a guide as part of a visit to the Scottish Lighthouse Museum. See 215203. |
