Description
English: Coat of arms of the Bercsényi family, version from the end of the 17th century.
Magyar: A Bercsényi család címerének változata a 17. század végéről. A család neve a Veszprém vármegye területén fekvő Bercheny nevű településhez köthető, melyet 1526-ban a török hadjárat porig rombolt. A család első ismert őse László, aki II. Lajos udvarnoka volt. 1525-ben Hont és Bars vármegyékben kapott királyi adományként birtokokat. Imre nevű fia Erdélybe költözött, ahol Báthory István és Kristóf kegyeltje és udvarnokaként Székes és Kendeő községek birtokát kapta örökadományul 1577-ben. Ettől kezdve használták a Bercsényiek a székesi előnevet. Imre fia, László már szörényi bán volt. Egy későbbi László nevű Bercsényi damasdi főkapitány volt, léhasága miatt várát a törökök elfoglalták. 1647-ben a nádor felelősségre akarta vonni, erre válaszul László II. Rákóczy György fejedelem szolgálatába lépett. Ettől kezdve a család tagjai jelentős személyek voltak. Legjelentősebbek talán Miklós kuruc főgenerális és László, aki Franciaország marsallja volt. A család mára már kihalt, 1835-ben lelte halálát a hazatelepült Bercsényi László gróf. Franciaországban ma is élnek leányági leszármazottaik.

Likewise, the Office will not register a government edict issued by any foreign government or any translation prepared by a government employee acting within the course of his or her official duties."
