English: Box containing one gram of radium presented to Marie Curie by President Warren G. Harding of the United States on 20 May 1921. The plaque on the side of the container reads: "Presented by the President of the United States on behalf of the women of America to Madame Marie Skłodowska Curie in recognition of her transcendent service to science and to humanity in the discovery of radium. The White House, Washington, D.C. May twentieth, nineteen twenty-one." (Curie Institute, Paris, 1921)
