| Description |
English: Coldtown (The Bastle), Redesdale. Keys to the Past Web Site: This building is a former bastle house and has been used as a barn or store in the past, but has now been converted into a dwelling. The bastle measures 34 feet (10.3m) by 21 feet (6.4m) and is built of characteristically large and roughly squared and coursed stone blocks. Few original features are visible on the outside of the building, except for a square-headed byre doorway in the west end. |
