Description
Español: Cartel conmemorativo de la inmigración finlandesa en Misiones y la fundación de la Colonia Finlandesa. A la izquierda, escrito en español, se puede leer:

Picada Finlandesa: Centenario de la Inmigración finlandesa a la República Argentina.

En 1906 llegaron los primeros inmigrantes finlandeses. Se instalaron en carpas y abrieron 10 km de picada en el monte. Fundaron la Colonia Finlandesa de Misiones.

Construyeron sus casas, caminos y puentes. Iniciaron el cultivo de la yerba mate, tabaco, citrus y otros productos. Soportaron el aislamiento y las difíciles condiciones para adaptarse a su nuevo hábitat: el monte virgen de la Selva Paranaense. Crearon la base de un asentamiento que se enriqueció con la llegada de nuevas familias finlandesas hasta 1925. Construyeron escuelas, el primer correo y la Sociedad Finlandesa. Estuvieron entre los primeros cooperativistas de Misiones.

2006: A cien años, conmemoramos su llegada en reconocimiento a su presencia y aporte cultural en Misiones. Misionesin kehitykselle.
