Rey Montalvo Vasallo (trovador) nació en Matanzas el 19 de enero de 1989, comenzó a tocar guitarra con 15 de años, y a partir de ahí emprendió una carrera artística a la par de sus estudios en la Universidad de La Habana. Ha compartido escenario con Silvio Rodríguez, Raúl Torres, y muchos otros trovadores cubanos. Conduce un programa de Radio en Matanzas donde comenta sobre trova cubana, dirige dos peñas en la Universidad de La Habana. Sus canciones muestran gran lirismo poético y una expresión de las vivencias de un joven.
