| Description |
English: Course of the Dorset Cursus on Bottlebush Down. Looking northeast from the point where the Ackling Dyke intersects the route of the neolithic Dorset Cursus. The low bank with a fence on top on the right of the picture is the remains of the more southerly bank of the cursus: its parallel partner has long since been lost to the plough. It is thought that the first phase of the cursus had its terminal in the middle of this grid square, and was later extended another 4km to Bokerley Down. |
