Locality: Navidad Mine (Mina Navidad; Abasolo Mine; Rodeo Mine), Abasolo, Rodeo, Municipio de Rodeo, Durango, Mexico (Locality at mindat.org)
As with the pink fluorites from the same locality, until these creedites were discovered, good crystallized specimens were exceedingly rare and expensive from ANY locality. Suddenly, you could own a really fine creedite without selling your house to get it! BUT THE MINING OF THESE IS NOW FINISHED, we hear from the miners themselves! This is a HUGE specimen, 16 cm across, COVERED with gemmy creedite crystals. (Its form is in fact a series of interconnected dome shapes.) Just imagine seeing something like this at auction before this locality was mined! If you dont have one, better get one fast. 15.8 x 9.3 x 7.2cm
