Summary[edit]

Description
English: Crkva Svetog Ahilija je smeštena na uzvišenju u središtu današnjeg Arilja i zadužbina je kralja Dragutina (kralj Srbije 1276 — 1282, kralj Srema 1282—1316) sa kraja XIII veka. Ima osnovu jednobrodne građevine sa narteksom i egzonarteksom, a podignuta je u Raškom stilu, u kome jedinstvena po svojim vitkim, izduženim proprocijama i fasadama raščlanjenim pilastrima i slepim arkadama. Izrada freskopisa je završena 1296. godine i izrađen je tradicijama monumentalnog stila srpskog freskoslikarstva XIII veka, a u njemu se ističu portreti samog Dragutina, zatim njegove supruge Kataline i njihovih sinova (Urošic i Vladislav), kao i njegovog brata, kralja Milutina (1282—1321).
