Summary[edit]

Description
English: A diagram of the relative accident risk of cyclists travelling through an intersection. The standard accident rate of 1.0 is measured for the cyclist travelling straight through. The highest accident rates are for those cyclists turning left from the cycle path, or crossing against the expected direction (assumes driving on the right).

Source Based on Figure 2, paper by W. Rauh (ARGUS Vienna), p. 78 of the proceedings of the Velo Secur 90 conference, Issues of Bicycling Safety - "Russian roulette" on sidepaths - sidepaths are the target of criticism.
