  • Significance: The original 18th-century core of the building is a 1-room, side passage structure that was altered and enlarged during the 19th and 20th centuries. This form is one of the basic plan types of 18th century Tidewater vernacular structures. Sited at the junction of 2 early roads, the picturesque structure with its verdant setting is an important local landmark. Significant original interior details include the closed-strung stair, wide-muntin sashes and cornices.
