| Description |
English: Up Relief from Paignton approaching Dawlish. View SW, towards Newton Abbot, Plymouth and Penzance: ex-GW South Devon main line, where it passes - conveniently for enthusiasts - beside the seafront between Dawlish and Teignmouth. This Up Relief is probably destined for Derby, via the ex-Midland from Bristol, headed by Collett 4-6-0 No. 4984 'Albrighton Hall' (built 1/31, withdrawn 9/62). They had run out of headboards, so they chalked the Reporting Number on the smokebox - a typical Summer Saturday sight at the time. |
