Notes
  • Significance: Historically known as Quarters H, Quarters 6 is one of eight quarters on North Avenue at NAS Pensacola, whose development reflects the 19th-century history of the Pensacola Navy Yard. The two-story, hipped roof, masonry and wood-frame building displays distinctive exterior architectural elements such as decorative brackets and a prominent screened porch. In 2004, the building was damaged by Hurricane Ivan, and it is currently vacant. Quarters 6, along with all of the officer's quarters on North Avenue, serves as a visual reminder of the 19th-century history and of the Pensacola Navy Yard and as a testament to the officers who forged the navy yard and the birthplace of naval aviation.
