Summary[edit]

Description
English: Dismantled Railway The former Lewes-Uckfield line that was opened in 1868 replacing an earlier section constructed in 1858 and closed in 1969 having survived Beeching's axe it fell victim to Lewes Council's desire to buy railway owned land to build a bypass, part of which was built but then stopped when they couldn't bulldoze their way through the town centre.
