Summary[edit]

Description
English: Double marble ash chest with lid, World Museum Liverpool, England. Made in the later 1st century AD, to contain the cremated remains of two people. Inscriptions translate To Claudia Quieta, imperial slave freedwoman, she is buried here. and To Tiberius Claudius Plolus (Plotus?) of the Quirina tribe, her son. He is buried here.
The lid does not originally belong to the chest. Michaelis believed the inscriptions to be “presumably spurious”.
