Summary[edit]

Description

A Dragon Roll maki sushi

This is a stylish presentation of a maki sushi called the dragon roll from a Japanese restaurant in San Francisco, California. A fillet of unagi (eel) is laid on top of a reversed California roll sushi. Two large fish eggs (salmon roe) were placed on one end to make it look like the eyes of a dragon. This dish cost US$12 in Nov 2004. A California roll is a maki sushi made with crab meat and avocado. The ingredients are wrapped in sushi (seasoned) rice and nori (seaweed wrapper). A reversed California roll is made with the same ingredients except the rice is wrapped outside the nori. California roll was allegedly invented in California but it became so popular that it was imported back to Japan.
