Summary[edit]

Description
English: "St. Patrick's Day Finale: Dublin, with her port standing out clearly to photographers in Earth orbit." – Caption by astronaut Chris Hadfield on board the International Space Station.

This is one of a set of eight pictures of Ireland taken from earth orbit that were posted on the internet by Hadfield to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day in 2013.

The city of Dublin, at the mouth of the River Liffey on the east coast of Ireland, is in the centre of the picture, and the view extends from Malahide, at the edge of the cloud to the north, to Bray at the south. The original image has been rotated 90 degrees to the left to present a more familiar orientation.
