| Description | We first saw her fly to this nest on July 6, 2013 at Carondelet Park at around the same time this day on July 12, 2013 - late afternoon. The nest looked then as it does in these photos. (See previous photo at www.flickr.com/photos/wildreturn/9243153330/) She was not staying put on it as she is on this day, July 12, 2013. We don't know if this is a new nest and she is making a try at a second brood, or if this is a new nest. It seems late for a first brood. We do know that she began sitting on it this day. Prior to this day, we could not catch her on the nest for more than a few seconds. We saw her add something to the nest and sit and scoot around in it as if shaping it. Also prior to this day, she would fly away for long periods of time. Not this day. The nest is about 50 feet up in an oak. We videoed the nest using our spotting scope. |
