Ebbitt House Washington DC
Description
English: Ebbitt House, a hotel and restaurant, in 1903. It was located at the southeast corner of F Street NW and 14th Street NW in the city of Washington, D.C., in the United States. This structure was built in 1872 by Caleb Willard. It replaced the original Ebbitt House (several structured built between 1800 and 1836 and united into a single structure in 1856). The 1872 building's low, mansard roof was replaced in 1895 with the two-story, much more elaborate mansard rooft seen here. The structure was razed in 1926 to make way for the first National Press Building.
