English: Example of Brillouin zone sampling of hexagonal lattice with a) Γ centered and b) regular 6 × 6 × 1 Monkhorst-Pack grid, the first Brillouin zone is highlighted as well as the irreducible Brillouin zone, which is the first Brillouin zone reduced by all of the point symmetries of the lattice and is used to further reduce numerical costs when applicable. |
