| Description |
English: Down 'Cornish Riviera Express' entering Exeter St David's. View NE from the north end of the station, towards Taunton and Bristol/London by the ex-GWR main line, also Plymouth/Ilfracombe etc. by the SR (ex-LSWR) lines. This crack express left Paddington at 10.30 and was due at Penzance at 16.55 (17.25 on Summer Saturdays). Normal motive-power was a 'King' 4-6-0 to Plymouth - this day No. 6021 'King Richard II' (built 6/30, withdrawn 9/62). On the left is a SR E1/R 0-6-2T waiting in its refuge siding for the next Up SR to bank up to Exeter Central. |
