| Description |
The town of Füssen unfolds before my eyes, from what would have been King Ludwig II's vantage point at Neuschwanstein. I love those red roofs that are found on traditional Bavarian buildings. Forggensee is an artificial reservoir dating back only to the 1950s. That means that my view is much better than the one that Mad King himself ever had. On the other side of the castle, in the steep Alps, there is a roaring waterfall, whose sound is constantly audible throughout the castle. A foot bridge, Marienbrücke, goes in front of it as part of a detour of the pedestrian trail, but I did not get to take that trail nor photograph the waterfall despite it being visible from some parts of the castle. |
