| Description |
English: Farmland below Abbot's Castle Hill, Shropshire. The soil cover is very thin on this scarp slope, and the gorse helps to stabilize it. An exposure of red sandstone (Triassic - New) does crop out above one area of the gorse, see 691977. The public footpath to the pub leads from the end of the gorse, diagonally across the grass field to the corner (a few cattle are there in the distance) then turns sharp left along the hedge to the Woodman. |
