Description
English: Italy Italy, Marina Militare. The frigate Fasan (F 594), Rizzo class, built by Shipyards Navalmeccanica Castellamare di Stabia, launched on October 09, 1960, completed and entered in service on October 10, 1962. The four units of this class, after being initially classified as corvettes, were the first frigates in the world to have facilities and shelter for anti-submarine helicopters. The artillery was reduced to a 76/62 piece to allow the extension of the flight deck. Here is anchored in the Port of Livorno at “Andana degli Anelli” of “Porto Mediceo” on August 1966.
