Description

Flag of the Popular Republic of Romania (8 January - 28 March 1948), according to Decree nr. 3/8 January 1948 (published in «Monitorul Oficial», nr. 7/9 January 1948, p. 154):

Art. 7. The coat of arms of the Popular Republic of Romania is showing: a tractor, a group of three furnaces in front of a rising sun, surrounded by a bundle of wheat ears tied with a ribbon having written on it «Republica Populară Română» and the initials «RPR» at the end of the wheat ears.

Art. 8. The colors of the Popular Republic of Romania are: blue, yellow and red, positioned vertically and having in the middle of the yellow field the Coat of Arms of the Republic.

Public domain According to the Romanian Law on Copyright and Neighboring Rights Law no. 8/1996 of March 14, 1996 with further amendments Chapter 3 Article 9 the following documents shall not benefit from the legal protection accorded to copyright:

  • The photographs of letters, deeds, documents of any kind, technical drawings and other similar papers shall not benefit from the legal protection accorded to copyright.

Therefore this image is assumed to be in the public domain worldwide, although some of the above categories may be subject to usage restrictions within Romania.
