Description

Horto Florestal de São Paulo

A época de reprodução inicia-se na primavera e vai até o fim do verão, onde a fêmea põe de 2 a 3 ovos, chocados por 15 dias, geralmente em 2 ninhadas por temporada. Constroem 2 tipos de ninhos: um para criar a prole e outro para descanso e pernoite. O primeiro é esférico, de parede grossa e compacta, feito de palhas, folhas, capins e teias de aranhas; a câmara incubatória localiza-se no centro, com a entrada às vezes protegida por palha. O segundo tipo é menor, mais achatado e de parede frouxa.
