  • Significance: Fort Hamilton contains a mixture of military fortification buildings from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, as well as twentieth century storage facilities and torpedo warhead arming structures. The significance of Fort Hamilton lies in both its innovative early fortification design, and its later association with the Naval Torpedo Station and the development of torpedo technology.
