This image show in a simplified way derivation of ΔΣ-modulation from Δ-modulation

  1. A block diagram of Δ-modulator/demodulator is shown
  2. Due to the linearity property of integral operator, the integrator in the forward path is moved at the very beginning of the whole conversion chain
  3. Due to the linearity property of integral operator (the sum of integral is equal to the integral of the sum), a ΔΣ-modulator/demodulator is obtained
