| Description |
English: Fulbourn Station The platforms are still there, but no-ones got off for a while. Being slightly out of town it is not an obvious candidate to be re-instated. Taken from the level crossing on Station Road - it lives on in the road name at least. Behind is Fulbourn Mill, run by S&B herba Foods Ltd. It was built in the 1940s as a grain store during the 2nd World War. After extensive modification and improvement to the building it became a rice mill in 1988.
The site has continued to undergo development and now has 2 processing lines and 2 packing lines. The site is equipped to clean and fully mill from suppliers all over the world. The mill is also capable of cleaning, splitting, polishing and packing peas & lentils. Rice, Pulses and Peas can then be packed in 20, 25kg, 45kg and 1 tonne bags and can also be supplied in Bulk tankers. Details from http://www.sbhf.com/pages/mills.htm |
