Summary[edit]
DescriptionGate Crag and Speaking Crag by Haweswater - geograph.org.uk - 65697.jpg |
English: Gate Crag and Speaking Crag by Haweswater. These crags are the names given to the promontory in the centre of the view, sticking out into Haweswater. The exposed ground in the foreground would normally be submerged but in the autumn of 2003 the water levels were extremely low. The exposed ground reveals the remains of old drystone walls which were submerged when the valley was flooded to provide drinking water for Manchester. |
