Description
Deutsch: Die Skizze zeigt drei typische Gefahren für Deiche bei Hochwasser.
  1. Das Durchspülen des Deichkörpers entlang einer Sickerlinie. Kommt es zum Materialtransport, angefangen mit kleinsten Sandkörnchen, tritt ein sich rasch ausweitender Zerstörungsprozess ein. Das Freispülen der Sickerlinie, selbst von feinstem Material, erhöht die Sickermenge, dies erhöht den Materialtransport etc.
  2. Unterspülung des Deiches durch Druckwasser, das sich unter Materialverschiebung unter der Dichtsohle des Deiches Richtung Altaue drückt. Dabei kommt es zu Setzungen, die man an alten Dämmen vielfach beobachten kann. Wird dabei der Höhenverlust zu stark, kann dies zur Überflutung des Deiches führen.
  3. Wird der Druck des Druckwassers auf die dichtende Lehmdecke hinter dem Deich so stark, dass diese aufgebrochen wird, so führt das stark strömende Wasser zur raschen Ausweitung des Grundbruchs und zu massiven Materialverschiebungen in der Sand- und Kiesschicht mit Hohlraumbildung bis zu Absacken des Deiches. Der Zusammenbruch des Deiches führt zur Flutung der Niederung bis auf Hochwasserhöhe, so dass die Druckverhältnisse sich ausgleichen.
