Notes
  • Significance: The Georgetown United States Post Office represents an excellent example of a Depression Era, Georgian-inspired, brick post office. While its standardized plans and details reflect the federal government's desire for economy, its prominent location on Georgetown's public square made it a center piece for community interaction and civic pride. It also illustrates the centralization of local, county, and federal government institutions in the town.
