Description

A diagram showing a greatly exaggerated stylised view of a cross section of the Eart (grey). The global best-fit ellipsoid is shown in red. A regional best-fit ellipsiod is shown in back, along with the region which it fits well. Note that the ellipsoids have different sizes and centre positions.
