Image title | 080322-N-4696M-001 ARABIAN GULF (March 22, 2008) A rigid-hull inflatable boat coming from the HMS Manchester (D95) makes its way to the stern dock of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) to pick up Manchester crew members on board obtaining weapons qualifications. Truman and embarked Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 3 are underway on a regularly scheduled deployment in support of maritime security operations (MSO). Maritime Security Operations help set the conditions for security in the maritime environment, which promotes stability and global prosperity. These operations complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations and seek to disrupt violent extremists' use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons or other material.
