| Description |
English: Site of Henstridge station, 1998. View SE from the A30 bridge, towards Bournemouth: ex-S&D Joint Bath - Bournemouth West line, closed 7/3/66. The station had been on the right where the new houses are, the line having been single-track over this stretch (Templecombe - Blandford). During the War (March 1944), a US Army tank-transporter fell off the bridge here onto a southbound Troop train as it passed below. |
