Summary[edit]
DescriptionHillsford Bridge - geograph.org.uk - 178502.jpg |
English: Hillsford Bridge. The bridge is at the junction of Farley Water and Hoaroak Water, a little up stream from Watersmeet where Farley Water joins the East Lyn. Some four miles from Hillsford Bridge the streams reach the sea at Lynmouth. The catastrophic flood of 1952 when 34 people were killed in Lynmouth was caused by the torrent of water carried by these streams together with the West Lyn, after heavy rain on Exmoor. |
