Français : Au fond, le Laghu Samrat Yantra, au premier plan, une partie d'un des deux hémisphères du Jai Prakash Yantra.
Le Laghu Samrat Yantra est construit en grès rouge et en marbre, c'est un double cadran solaire dont le gnomon en escalier est incliné de 27° (latitude de Jaipur). Le Jai Prakash Yantra est un instrument qui sert à la vérification des relevés des autres instruments et des calculs effectués. Il est composé de deux hémisphères concaves en marbre de 5,5 m de diamètre qui représentent la voute céleste inversée. L'instrument peut être utilisé de jour (grâce à l'ombre du soleil qui se projette sur les surfaces de marbre) comme de nuit (en ce cas, on observe à l’œil les étoiles ou les planètes à travers le trou central). Le Jantar Mantar à Jaipur est un observatoire astronomique, qui a été bâti en 1728-1733 à la demande du maharaja Jai Singh II (1688-1743), grand amateur d'art, féru d'astronomie et d'architecture.
