Notes
  • Significance: The design of the Clarke House follows the architectural principles of the Prairie School. The architect, Francis Barry Byrne, was trained in Frank Lloyd Wright's office, but the house is distinctively Byrne's interpretation of the principles and is an important example of American architecture of the first quarter of the twentieth century.
  • Survey number: HABS IA-23
  • Building/structure dates: 1916 Initial Construction
